When i try to test my level, i get this error. It always happens at the VERY end of the loading process, when it says "Loading entity sounds". Sometimes when i change something in the level, it doesn't happen, and i'm actually able to test it. But then when i change something else, it happens again. Even if it's as little as swapping a Main AI script in the properties of something, or making a tiny modification to a single line in a script being used. Could someone please tell me how to solve this issue? It's gotten to the point now, where no matter what i change, i can't test my level at all.

Error screen attached.

Cheers, Jake

I got the same problem as you its annoying isn't

i have a lot of errors cause my system actually cant handel fpsc
sometimes i just whant to shoot my PC
cause fpsc is such a great engine and my PC sucks

Anyway i think the error is caused by your machine it self maybe your PC cant handle your level

Succes and good luck

That doesn't make sense though, because my computer can handle everything else thats huge. I've had huge levels like my current one before, and they worked just fine.

EDIT: @anayar - I don't change to different pages though, i keep FPSC up.

I have tried that. Several times. I even tried re-installing v1.17. When that didn't work, i tried v1.18. And it still happens!

Maybe you should close all your windows and then load up your level.

Cheers

open the setup.ini and change the zero to a one
then save as .ini before closeing and overwrite the old one.

I've found away around this, by just splitting my level in two. Since it isn't as big that way.

Looks like you might be hitting the 1.85 gb memory cap for windows 32 bit (having 64 bit doesn't matter as fpsc is a 32 bit application) One thing to try is compressing your audio sounds down a little bit. Enough to shrink the size but not enough to cause noticeable degradation. Or you could install a 3GB switch if you have 4 gigs of ram running windows xp. It's unstable as it forces windows to run in only 1 gig or ram and uses 3 gigs for applications, but it does work. We used to do this before we upgraded our work computers so we could run multiple instances of Autocad. Here's 2 pages about the switch but remember it makes windows unstable sometimes.

Edit- one thing I noticed is you have a lot of programs running with your fpsc there. Not only windows media player, but I see a string of things in your icon tray. Do you need Norton/Mcafee to be scanning your computer while you are creating a game? Try using a program called "end it all" it's a little applet that shuts down all non essential programs and services, then start fpsc. Be careful with that one too. or go to start/run and type msconfig.

Even when FPSC is the only program running, i still get the error. But i guess i just reached the size limit for my level. I cut it in half, so i don't have that problem anymore, but i DO appreciate you telling me all this. Thanks.
