Hey everyone, I'm brand new here

Ok, so I've recently started a Games Design course at my college, and I'm really, really interested in pursuing it as a career, but my question is this:

Shall I buy the DarkBasic Bonanza deal offer thing, or shall I instead try and learn how to program with C++?

I have no prior experiances in programming of any kind, and I have never made a game in my life, but I feel that I should start work both at home and college so I can perform as good as I can.

So please, if anyone can point me in the right direction (Preferably before the deal finishes!)

- Also, sorry if this is the wrong section to post this sort of question, if so, please move me or tell me or whatever is supposed to happen. Cheers!

Which seems easier? Download the free version of DarkBasic Pro and try it.

No its not, it just takes time to learn it.

However as a beginner programmer i would recommend you to try the free version of dark basic pro.

You can sure download both and try for yourself what the differences are but you should try learning some BASIC first to understand how programming works.

Thanks guys, I'll look into it.

C++ does look ALOT more difficult that Basic, but I'm sure C++ would be more helpful in the long run?

Unless, of course, by learning Basic I'll will find C++ easier, maybe?

Meh, I dunno. I'll give it a go.

Learning to program in Dark Basic Pro first would certainly help, but not as much as you might think. It just takes a lot of getting used to the programing stye and the commands.
