Does such a thing (or similar) exist? Essentially just a huge DX wrapper to break all the commands down to the DB level of simplicity. What is so appealing to me about DB is all the stuff you can do royalty free. However, I just can't tear myself away from C++'s flexibility. So yeah, any heads up to something like this would be greatly appreciated.

If you use VisualC++ then it might be worth you looking on my site for the VC++ to DBPro Interface library ... it sounds like it might just be what you're looking for
