Hi folks. There have been a few questions about how to use FPSC's new water, so I have created a few water zones.

Included are:
Water Zone - Turns water on when the player enters the zone
Water - Pure water juice... from concentrate
Sewer Water - Dirty low height water
Acid - Fizzy green stuff, waist height
No Water Zone - Disables water

Download the stuff from here. Just drag and drop into your FPSC folder.

NEW UPDATE!!!
I have also created a floor segment that changes the default footsteps to a water wading sound. This is perfect for low water which the player walks through. Download this from my post below, or here.

Enjoy!

I'll give it a try. Looks like some neat scripts? Triggers? Water events?

Well, any of the non-zone objects will create the specified water no matter where they are placed. The player does not have to pass them. The Zone objects basically turn water on or off when the player enters the zone.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Ok, I have a new addition. I shall update my initial post aswell.

I have created a segment that has water wading sounds as its material sound instead of the normal stone footsteps used on surfaces. Place this segment under your shallow water and enjoy.

Hmm, there should be a bunch of sounds and effects that work for water. An under water ambience sound, a splash sound, the splash decal, the ripple sound the walking on water surface sound etc...

Did Lee forget to include these effects with the latest beta?

Yeah, they were included. The segment uses them as it's material sound.

Thank you very much,
This will be useful if for example...

You make a game where you don't want water at the beggining of your game then you make it so the water appears when you want it too without the player noticing, then make a way so the player cannot return to the beggining of the map.

So I had a thought on how you could improve your water zone scripts. Using the improved variable system you can set the water height to the height of your triggerzone.

For example heres an edit of the stock water.fpi scripts:

Thats a great script. that will keep the number of water scripts to a minimum, not needing a script for each height you desire.

Thanks JRH for the download also. I will give these a try.

About time my char needs to take a shower lol

Seriously though it works like a zone? Thats sweet.

Edit::::

Just a idea if this is the case, then their should be a way to edit the water to resymbol something like slime or custom water surfaces. Sorry spur of the molment brain storm.

Looking good, JRH.

One question, do these have scripts and everything included so that they can be used in different versions of fpsc or do they have to be used in V118 BETA 3?

I toyed around a liitle with the water in 1.18 beta 3 and everything works fine.

But I can't bring the PLRUNDERWATER condition to work. I want to make a hud appear when the player is within the water zone AND below the water line but not when he's above the water line.

It doesn't work which is weird as there is indeed the splashing sound when the player raised his head above the waterline.

Has someone used the PLRUNDERWATER condition in a script sucessfully so far?

No! I had the same issue. I just use a trigger zone now.

Unfortunately I can't make it work with a triggerzone of its own either to display different huds for the players "head" being above or below the waterline - even if I place the waterline exactly on segment height

Yeah the question was asked does it have to used on Beta 3 or can it be used in different versions? I need to know too, I use Project Blue which supports up to 18 Beta 1. Can I still use it?

I made that command to make a breathing script.

Maybe the command broke? Can anyone confirm by testing the script please.

Sorry, I must have missed it when I uploaded the website to the new host. It should be accessible now. If you get a 'page noy found' error, its because the domain name is currently in propagation.

That surprises me, most domains propagate nearly instantly nowadays. You must be on an older IP structure.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

Ok, transfer is complete. Only waiting for ISPs to update their DNS records now. This will happen sooner or later depending on when your ISP decides to do this.

It seems my host is having trouble accepting the domain. I am trying to sort this out with people in a different time zone who can hardly speak English. Please be patient. It is required.

I will not upload the media direct here, so as to prevent piracy and plagiarism. On my site I track the IP addresses of downloads so that I can:
A) Monitor which files are downloaded most, and
B) Ban IP addresses, should the need arise.

JRH - Many thanks for this it looks a good addition to X9.
One question though, the water in X9 is it similar to water in X10?
What I mean is - does it reflect the surroundings above the water?

If so can the properties be changed (like in X10)to make reflective floors?

As I need this for my project
