When i use a texture on a new model there seems to be see-through blotches as seen in the pic, this doesn't happen all the time and was wondering if this is a bug or am i doing something wrong?cheers

If i am correct you got a problem with your alpha map, delete the alpha map and it'll be gone

If you have any solid black areas on your texture then replace those with a dark grey or very dark blue colour instead.

To FPSC solid black is invisible (see through) as in the image above, colour those areas any other dark colour and all should be well, as knxrb mentioned.

Go into your texturing program and increase the brightness by 1 on your texture. Save it. Fixed.

My karma ran over your dogma.

If you texture has no alpha, using "transparency = 0" in the entities .fpe should tell FPSC to ignore any true black and stop it masking it out. It does for me anyway.
