Hey guys, for some reason I can never get way points to work properly. Every time I try to use them on "pace" entities they always walk in the same position and never move. Sometimes they even flip out and turn around like 900 times a second. I set their main script to "pace" because I dont want them attacking me at all. I just want them to move with the way point. Am I doing something wrong?

Try follow.fpi in the people folder.
That works for me.

Nope just does not do it for me, they still walk in the same spot. This is so aggravating.

Maybe it is just a collision problem with those terrain segments ??

It's cosmic prophets terrain segments. I thought gsc applied to all segments no matter what kind.

**Edit**
Did the same thing for the common segment. Same thing..

Try placing your characters above the ground a bit (i.e. never press Enter when placing and maybe even raise them a little), just in case their feet are slightly below the floor, as this can cause walking troubles.

You could also test with a stock character in case those Viking looking dudes have a problem.

Tried that, I even tried using an akio, they do the same things as well. I think the way point system is screwed up.

Are you using 3x3 segments? If so switch to 1x1.

It's a matter of virtual holes, that prevent the characters from moving (null space or something). The waypoint system is fine though.

I am using the default "common" ground segment that FPSC gives you, I would hope that it works with its own segments.

Hmm...If I remember correctly the follow script has a line somewhere which tells the character if the player is visible , to stop following waypoints.

Maybe that's the issue?I've had this problem before, the script works , but the animation still runs so it gives an illusion that the character actually walks.

EDIT - yup.As I suspected

So I have to put that bit of code in the script? or thats the code that stops them from doing the way point?

That's the bit that screws up everything.

Basically you just need this as your main character's script

Quote: ":waypointstate=0:animate=2,waypointstart
:waypointstate=3:animate=2,waypointnext
:waypointstate=4:animate=2,waypointrandom
:waypointstate=5:animate=2,waypointreverse"

:waypointstate=5:animate=2,waypointreverse""

Just tried this, same thing, they keep walking as if they are moon walking, playing the animation but not going any where.
