Is it possible to have an updater for your games?

Like if you already published the game and you made more but you want it in the convinience of the same game that you published how do you update it, kind of like add-ons for those who play on xbox360 probably includes the ps3.

There are probably a few ways you could do this.

Most games for PC have patches which you can download or get downloaded via a launcher application that checks to see if the game is the latest version.

Or you can be lazy like everyone else and just re-package the whole game as v1.++ because there's usually no point making a patch for an indie game.

just use the http functions, and replace files. I've never see an updater that actually patched files. It replaces them, and when updater is updated a notification to download is presented.
