Hey guys,
I'm in need of a real-time blur shader, one with adjustable strenght, so i can set the amount of blur for any object!

I can't find one around the forums so I thought I just ask if someone has one, which works in DBPro.

It just needs to use my base image (with alpha mask) and blur it, based on the value it is given.

Hope someone is able to help!

DG

well its not really what I want.
Its a nice thing, but the blur is not as I want it and the "wave shader" is not there and the "mapped" mode is not what I need.
But thanks for the link ^^

Does someone has something like I am searching?

How can it not be what you search? You're meant to write your own shader. Check out the "Learn how to write shaders"-thread and the example effect files that come with the plugin.

The "wave shader" is an example of HLSL of how to transform the pixel coordinates, the "mapped" mode shows how to use a separate image with data, the desaturation shaders shows a simple transformation on the colors. It's a short demo of what pixel shaders can do to your image.

Cheers!

Perhaps you could explain more carefully what you want?

Your first post seemed to be confusing two different things. In one sentence you say:

Quote: "I'm in need of a real-time blur shader, one with adjustable strenght, so i can set the amount of blur for any object!"

and in another:

Quote: "It just needs to use my base image (with alpha mask) and blur it, based on the value it is given."

Which is it you wish to blur? An object or a texture, or perhaps the screen (which would need a full-screen blur shader)?

maybe I have not described it that well.
So I try it again

I need to blur the texture of an object ("set object effect") so I can easily blur the texture of an object in real time. So like in a graphic programm where I blur the image, just I need to do it to an texture of an object.
Hope thats better to understand!

Why not just have various blurred versions of the same texture and re-texture the object to increase the blur amount? Save you from using shaders.

because I do not want to create... lets see... like 40 variations of one textur (which is not that lowres) and retexture the object with them every time.
This would also kill my memory. So I really need one!

Why not just use two versions of the image. Texture your object to 2 different texture stages and use blendmapping?
