I'm needing some BSP information about BSP collisions.

1st question: I'm assuming that it's possible to climb a wall in BSP, for example say a ladder. Now is it possible to have something walking on the ceiling by climbing the wall?

2nd Question : Do Prefabs from Hamer Work in BSP? Or would i have to make my own prebuilt prefabs?

Thanks all.

I'm not really sure myself. I think it's like a pre-built interactive object. Someone on the Forum said they loved using Prefabs in BSP maps, and i wanted to know if i can do this. Hammer has a collection of general half life prefabs, for example the breakable boxes and computers. I dunno. Anyone know what a prefab is? -DivW

There are classes in all BSPs which are designed to be interactive with the player. Unfortunatly you need to know the values etc and program in your own code to use them.

It's enough to make you wonder if your on the right planet!!! or

Prefabs do work. However entities do not, i.e. anything with auto-style effects like animating or glowing etc... need to be handled in a different way by your own code.

We found also that you can't use the compile with no WAD's option, so make sure your bsp is basically just geometry and has the WAD's with it. Best not to try anything more than the basics although trial and error is probably the best route.

Hmm...thanks mate. Ok, i'll try and figure it out. I'm making a massive project with tons of maps (at least 30...but they're all really big and mostly indoors) so i can't really use anything else for the Collisions. Well thankee any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -DivW
