i get an error at line 29 about linking limbs in sequence
what could i possibly be doing wrong?

Taken directly from the help files:

Why not take it easy on yourself - with one of my plug-ins, you can use the command or function APPEND LIMB to add a new limb without having to track what the next limb is.

You can name limbs while appending, or you can set them later, so that you no longer have to keep track of their numbers, which can and do change when you link to existing limbs.

When you do need a limb number, it's simple to search by name.
