There use to be a download of "Delphi6 Personal" on Borland's homepage. But since Delphi7 was released the only thing you can download is the trial of the "Architect" version.

That's where back issues of magazines come in handy. I just bought a back issue of a swedish mag with Delphi 6 on it. I'm going to have a look at it, and see what all the fuzz is about.
Is there a marked performance difference between Object Pascal and C++? Not that I'd care much. I've had ideas for programs that Visual Basic just doesn't elegantly let me implement. That's why I've been struggling with C++.

If you have a basic idea of OOP you shouldn't have probs with Object Pascal.

Well, I've only really used OOP as far as it's implemented in Visual Basic, with its implementation of classes and objects. If it's anything similar, then sure -- I can use it.
We'll see, I guess.
Btw, perhaps one of the mods should move this discussion to General Talk as it appears to have moved far away from talk about Dark Basic Pro.
