use a sound aeditor to -amplify the sound and save as .wav file and then replace with that one or change the original name to (fire1).
Audicity is a free sound editor that you can use to do this.
thats what I did to adjust the sound for FPSC.
Edit: I am prety sure there is a way to change the distance for the sound on the entity... I just don't remember how tho.. I think its in the .FPE File. I will look and see if I can figure it out.
Edit #2: Another thing you can do is add the spirit right click on it and change the start script from repeatsound.fpi to appear1.fpi
then create a sound zone, change the main script to soundloopinzone.fpi now go down to sound0 and change the sound to the sound you would like (which fire usualy is under: \The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\audiobank\atmos) click ok, now left click the sound zone to move it hold shift to make its effective area larger until its the size you would like it. left click again to place it. Now test the game. see if its good enough or not. then edit and test again.
let me know how that works.
