Santa Rush Entry
Ok, so here's my entry!

Download One -

I was short on time, so around next week I'll upload a more completed version that fixes a few bugs and adds mini-game and options functionality. I hope those things don't lower my score too much, at least the game works...

Hi, here's my entry:
Santa Claus - Rudolf The Reindeer is missing

Story: Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer had been missing since Santa had woken up, and Santa Claus got worried, so Santa went out to look for Rudolf. Santa saw Rudolf far away, but the way to Rudolf was difficult to pass. Help Santa Claus to reach Rudolf!
(Santa will not reach Rudolf, it is not the game's idea!)

Download link (Game)

Download link (Project source code)

This game is my very first DBPro game what I've finished. I didn't have lots of time to finish this, because of my next week's exams, so I had to sacrifice time from my exam-reading-time
So I had to leave some things of this game, sadly.

Credits:
All media and code by me, except the Sparky's Collision code-additions.

Some bugs may appear in some computers, sorry!

EDIT:
Some bugs fixed and made the game better.

Thanks,
Turtle Productions

Thenerd

Thanks, the music was made using Magix music maker 2004 (dance edition). I had many errors when installing it on windows 7, I had only used it with XP before, but once installed it seemed to work well. If you listen carefully to the menu music you can hear me play “god Rest you merry gentlemen” on the tin whistle altered greatly to fit in with the rest of the song and made quiet because I am rubbish.

I had just bought Box2d and was intending to use it to make a Worms/TanX sort of game when the compo started. So thought I might as well give it a go. It basically does what it says on the tin and does it well; I would recommend it to anyone who wants a 2d Physics system. I have used Dark Physix which has many more advanced features but unfortunately people need to install the drivers unlike Box2d which just works.

Hope you have tried Chimney Capers again and improved on that score.

Your game is fantastic if you had taken away the options and the mini games selections, I would have thought it was a complete and very polished game. The graphics are great and I especially like your use of multiple layers.

Brk_oth

Liked the use of a blurry tree to make the important parts stand out and you seem to have got the difficulty level just about right for me.

Turtle Productions

Your game worked for me, though your improvements have made it better. I like your 3d Santa and landscapes (which I keep falling off).

Bandito_Walrus

I love the retro feel to your game and it takes me back to the great games of the 1980s.

Goodluck Everyone and Thanks for another great Compo, It’s the only time I actually finish projects. Shame Josh Mooney and pictionaryjr never got their entry’s in their screenshots looked good, hope you and anyone else post your games if you get them finished.

Oh, awesome!

Congrats to Jammy and Bandito Walrus too!

I noticed, they used an old screenshot in the newsletter...
Also, I hope they use my forum email instead of my user email, which no longer exists.

They shouldn't have picked a holiday weekend to end the competition, I didn't have a chance to work on anything. Oh well, what I did manage to get done in the few days I had is posted in the WIP board, not much to do in the game though.

I know how you feel. I was unable to finish mine in time, yet they put up one of my screenshots in the newsletter at least.

Congratulations to all who won! Didn't have the time to enter this one because of all the other projects I'm currently working on, but that was also to make it easier on you guyz to win. Hahaha!

Cheers

I'm really excited I won...

One thing though, any estimate on when those vouchers are going to be sent out to the winners? Also, when that does happen, would it be possible to send it to my forum email? The original email that is linked to this account isn't mine, and never gets used any more.

Thanks James I got your Email and have replied detailing the one that is linked to my TGC account and my full name.

Thanks again for another great TGC competition, Just wish I could have done better and been "involved in the next secret project", You could always keep me in mind if you are looking for someone else ?.

Congratulations to thenerd you deserve it, Your Game looked great and you are obviously very talented.

Now what to spend my voucher on?

I have DB classic, DB pro, Dark Matter 1, Sound Matter 1-13, Dark Clouds, Dark Physics, Dark AI, Dark Lights, Dark Shader and Box 2d.

Have You a favourite Plug-in I am Missing ?
Should I get Smart Packer Pro? - though I would like an Installer that made MSI`s.
What about Genetica with its 50% off offer, I have always used my camera and Paintshop pro for textures, Is this much better ?
Or should I wait and get the App Game Kit? I have been waiting for something like this since the fall of TGCs Omega Basic.
