Hey! It's been a while since I've done anything modeling related so I thought I would make a small horror scene. Kind of inspired by Resident Evil 4/Silent Hill

I would post some wireframes and what-not but it's not really meant to be an in game model, just more or less a cool scene (I completely half-a$$ed the unwrapping part of).

nice, someone hanging a giant breadstick?

Nah - i'm joking, i guess that's meant to be a bag/sack on the head? if so it could do with a bit of a texture change at the bottom to make it look more open.

Hey man, i like it!

Only thing i noticed that i dont know why i noticed, you must of scaled the arms after the texture, or mapped it unequal, because the sleeve fabric is smaller, and fabric is consistent throughout.

Haha! nice I totally see what you mean by the opening of the texture. Thanks for the suggestion!

Ahh yea I see what you mean, should be an easy fix, thanks!

Today I'm going to start on a new scene... A more detailed and "open" scene.

EDIT: Updated the first post with a fixed up render

Crits on the compposition;

Large uneven negative space, not good especially with the type of peice.

No dynamic-ness, the visual signposts are too small and close together, so you dont focus on the actual scene just the smaller triangle.

Light, as good as a spot light is for focus, theres no ambient light as you would expect from ti being outside. Maybe some subtle background or even a foreground.

Persective, its unoriginal and boring. Needs to have a kick behind it to lead the viewer better. Try framing the image with again, a little foreground or background so your eyes are lead around the image.

Just so you know, always work in 3. One centre peice, two supports. Light casting off another object matbe the knife wedged into the tree with blood dripping down it type deal. spread out the focal points a little so you can lead the viewer better.

Right now it seems like im just ripping in to your work, but im not, well i am, but because you could really make this peice shine and i jsut wanted to part on some advice

Hope i helped anyway

Thanks, my what would you have thought if i wrote everything down

Oh and try a low-to-high angle of the camera. You could have the feet dangling, lifeless, while forground grass/reeds frame it. Even placing it on a small hill and have the person looking up at it. Theres a 1001 ways to make a picture really work

Thanks for all of the suggestions Lazerus! I didn't go back and change that scene, but I did keep them in mind when I was working on today's scene, which is done

Here it is:

The next scene that I'll be working on was something that I had burning in my mind for a few years, so it'll be creepy
