Hello and please allow me to say, in advance, that this is a friendly message/request.
Without endeavoring to amend Mr. Bamber's world at FPSC in any way, is it possible to make a suggestion for the good of the order?
I am having a simple problem and it should not be the end of the world. My solution first:
FPSC requires a Desktop App to act as the decompression/Compiler/Loader Utility.
This problem appears to be simple, but is legally complex for all of the wrong reasons.
Firstly, FPSC is a piece of Intellectual Property and Mr. Bamber should continue to enjoy his proprietary position without forcing a game developer to exploit Source Code protection such that they can figure out how to deliver a finished FPSC product to a customer.
Since this is an advertised capacity/outcome of the purchase of the FPSC product; the Loader App solution appears to be the only friendly solution to the, otherwise complex, legal dilemma associated with this issue and delivering products to the public [true for anyone, not a warning].
Apollo is clearly aware of how to create this application on Inno or the like; but the distributable App does not appear to be available- and I do not want to hire a programmer to dig through Mr. Bamber's source code in search of the answers to what must be simple questions for obvious legal reasons. Were I to resolve this matter in this fashion, the legal issues relates to my distribution of evidence capable of being used against me in legal proceedings.
My staff programmers are, as a result of this catch-22, hesitant to dig into the FPSC code- and I do not want to pressure them when a simple request of FPSC should be sufficient.
Counsel suggests letting FPSC fix this problem in-house; as this is a position protective of both the FPSC and my legal rights or positions. Our resolution to date involves re-directing unsatisfied clients to the FPSC forum and tagging the files with disclaimers- a policy which is legally sound [largely from my perspective, not that of FPSC], but cannot possibly be of assistance to FPSC Staff or improve sales despite its being the only legally protective avenue available to a person in my awkward position [offering a product that appears to be non-functional despite the product working fine on my computer is not an easy problem to deal with when your only recourse is to blame the developer of the product, which can only be FPSC, under involved legal circumstances].
-I just want my clients to have fun playing a simple game and need to focus on my other businesses rather than issues that should have been resolved by FPSC in their BETA versions.
I bet that someone out there has this App written; could someone please send Mr. Bamber, Apollo or me a copy. I have seen allot of talent in the FPSC circuits and am merely requesting that we all benefit by placing the velvet glove on this and lightly pressuring FPSC to resolve this dilemma to our mutual satisfaction and benefit-perhaps with your authentic insights into how to resolve this strategically significant matter?
Thank You for your consideration; and Happy Holidays!
Rich
