Hmmmm...
Those system specs aren't bad. What's your graphics card? Before you go to the work of checking that, do you have the newest update of FPSC? If you do, maybe try Fenix Mod, it makes your framerate faster in games. It's legal in case you were one of the people that thought mods were illegal.

Go to Start

Type in dxdiag

I think this is a intergrated graphics card. Its in a laptop or notebook right?

I read somewhere that intergrated graphics cards don't work to well with FPSC

And how much memory does the card have?
It should say in the dxdiag too

While it is not ideal I run a similar setup with windows 7 and integrated intel graphics but can usually stay between 30-57 frames on fairly crowded and populated levels. Can you post a screenshot of your level in a test setting so we can see how much poly's physics etc, you are using.

All Intel integrated cards tend to be pretty useless at 3d rendering.

Is the RAM DDR2 or DDR3? Shouldn't make any difference but I'm interested.

The only major slowdown I get with the Intel integrated graphics is during post processing effects like bloom. Syko Games, do you have post processing turned on? If so try disabling them and seeing if that helps. That's what I have to do, but I also have a desktop with some major components that will rock the world (at least for the next 2 months until something new and better comes out) for testing my levels with the effects.

It's hard to tell from you picture, but FPSC doesn't handle outdoor scenes at all well. If your level is large, this could be one of your problems.

It seems indeed that in the latest versions of FPSC behaviour is similar though not exactly so by any means as V1.0 as the current source code is apparently an evolution of that source. Forgive me if I am mistaken there.

Anyway performance in the current FPSC it seem to me is very similar in its patterns to V1.0 and indeed outdoor levels seem to suffer most now from the lowest fps speeds.

Having said that most versions have varied quite a bit from one to the next and versions have always seemed to fluctuate quite a bit both with fps in outdoor and indoor levels, so that one never quite knows what you are going to get with each new version. Nice it might be if when a good one comes along especially if its reasonably balanced and stable if one could keep it, unfortunately progress never stops and with each update comes new challenges for both the developers and users alike.

Better is coming if you are lucky, So dont give up on outdoors levels - go for it....and make it Big and fill er up!

Nothing like a Challenge is there.

That's correct uman

I think to be fair there have been some good improvements since v1.0 but outdoor scenes haven't changed much.

That would be good.
