Okay, so i'm planning to buy Darkbasic Pro, and really wanted to get the best start with it. Is there anything else I should buy that would really help me out? For example 3d World Studio? Is there anything that if I get it would greatly help a noob out haha?

Depends on what you are planning to use it for I would imagine. Certainly some tools to help creating media are a help. Possibly the new media pack bundle mentioned in this very forum, that would go a long way to helping if you need any sort of city/world graphics and also a few people, items etc as well. You could use Gimp for 2d art or textures etc, a free paint package. Theres plenty out there, and a section devoted to some tools/media you can use in the forums.

If you are looking for something to build worlds in I would get Mapscape by Evolved for free at www.evolved-software.com

It's great for fully lightmapped (shadowed) worlds like in my game The Last Stand (images in my signature).

I wouldn't go spending too much money to start with, just have a play making simple stuff to start like making a cube move around when you press certain keys and build from there. That's how most of us here started out!
