How do i get icons to work on my db projects (use it for the main exe icon) and also what program can i use to make them in. cheers

That's what I'd like to know. I heard it doesn't work if you're running Win98 2nd edition, which I am. And I've been told that I'd
have to buy some third party software to do that, either IconForge or IconEdit.

Beats the hell out of me! I've emailed their tech support twice and got no answer! And I'm really pissed off about this because I've written a fully functional game that I want to release, but because I'm not able to change the exe icon, I cannot release it unless I want to use that db logo icon as the exe icon, which I don't.

another way is to replace the DBpro icon in:

C : Program Files Dark-Basic Software-Dark Basic Professional-Compiler-plugins

before you compile

Where do people get that sliver square one from, the DarkMATTER software uses it, does anyone know what i mean.

the silver square is a dbc .exe i think, the icon changer works fine for me, i'm running windows xp, and just add an icon to the .exe from the project manager toolbar at the side. Icons are supposed to be 16bit images aswell aren't they?

It only works on NT-based systems (because the API provides a function on that windows verions).
You can change the icon with "resource hacker", though (google). It's free. However, that won't change the little icon on the top left corner of the window (if you run your app in windowed mode). Changing this icon requires a bit more work.

I awoke in a fever. The bedclothes were all soaked in sweat.

Actually that was easier than I remembered (oh my memory).

NOTE: This function has only a visual effect when
1) The Application Icon is different from DBpro's standard
2) the new Icon has the same Resource ID as the previous standard one (105)

I was able to use resource hacker to change the icon, but then when I ran the exe, it crashed! Know why?

Resource hacker does not work on DBPro executables.

specifically the posts around noon on Oct 7th.

Follow their instructions and you can get your DBPro icons replaced, even in the window title bar!

It worked for me.
