Title says it all really, whenever I try to install it, I choose my DBP location and it says that it couldn't detect my DB installation. I think it has something to do with the fact that I copied it straight across from my old PC so that I wouldn't have to re-install my plugins or my projects and things.

Is there any way I can install the update?

I would:
1-rename the folder
2-re-install DBP (just the basic package)
3-copy the contents of the renamed folder over the top of your new installation
4-install the update

Yeah, I'm having the same problem here... And I also copied it straight from my backup HDD.

there's your problem. You need to install it, not copy it.
