How can i read the following registry entry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MicrosoftWindows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Favorites

ive tried using dbpro and tried using regedit from the command line both with no joy , I can get entries from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE no probs

** i can export up to the explorer folder then when i add shell folders on it dosnt work

unfortunatly you cant.

The base key that dbpro sets is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. You cannot change this unfortunatly. I posted a topic asking about a full registry command set i.e. set the base key you want. of course the very idea of having a full registry command set would be detrimental to the entire human race ^o).

hehe cheers , i kind of got round it in a very longwinded kind of way. I wrote a vbs file that obtains the data and creates a text file then read the data in from the text file to dbpro however if your running norton it detects a malicious script because it writes to the hd not too end user friendly

its to read the location of the favorites folder ,incase its on a different drive/directory its not really important its just i like writing silly little programs to learn more about things
