Ive updaded fpsc to the latest one but when i run it it comes up whith this message:

fpsc-mapeditor cannot write files to the program files area. ensure you have
UAC switched off and that you are running as an administrator user.

Im fed up with uninstalling it and putting the disc back in because it deletes all the models and it takes ages for me to put them all back on so please can someone tell me whats going on. thankyou, kalex91

Have you actually tried to do as it says? It's a fairly informative error after all, much better then the Debug 0.0 one anyways.

User Account Control, it's the bloody annoying thing that keeps asking if you're sure you want to execute programs on Win7/Vista.

Most likely because UAC refuses to let software write on your Windows installation drive, or just the Program Files folder. It's a nasty bugger really.

UAS error is caused from the OS saying hey I cant write these files to this path because its read only file or folder. Right click on FPSC folder and uncheck readonly. It will still keep it as read only cause some files are still read only but should allow u to write the the folders u need

Also try running it in XP Service Pack 3 Compadability mode if u have further issues or u can simply turn UAC off in services. Just turn off sercurity center. Don't recomend it but it works.
