I'm interested in creating a music based shooter which uses the players music to generate enemy waves etc.. I am at a lose of how to interpret an mp3 in DBPro. There are a few posts regarding an FMod dll wrapper but they all end in dead ends.

Has anyone any experience in music file analysis, I'm assuming I need to use the EQ of a track as the base of a level but the generic DB commands have no way of doing this.

Take a look at Torrey's audio plug-in. It allows you to access the decoded sound data, and you may be able to do something with that.

I'm applying terms of use that require you to wear a red nose and honk a horn whenever you use the Internet

Far as I'm aware you'll need to use an FFT on the decoded sound data to pick out the various frequency levels, unless Torrey's plugin does that already.
