Awesome in depth post.

And yes, you can program friendly AI and a conversation system which is what I'm assuming you want to do (I might also be wrong as I've never tried leadwerks)

It is a download as is shown both on the Leadwerks page in the left column, and if you follow the checkout process a small amount it tells you 'Your purchases will be delivered electronically'.
