make light.

Is this command the same as putting a light entity in cshop or valve hammer editor. Will it produce the same lightly shaded area on a wall when the ambient light is set to 0?

Ive never understood light... but then again ive only ever tried it once in db....

No, it isn't at all like a light in cshop. The lights in cshop (or any mapmaking program) are all precalculated and drawn to a seperate texture. The lights in DBP are all dynamic(calculated on the fly) and only affect vertices (vertex lighting). The biggest downside to this method is that when you use lights with a low vertex object, the lighting won't look very sharp and will not be very noticible.

... and this is where per pixel lighting via pixel shader comes into rescue!
