OK i write it quick:
I´m working half a year on a game in fpsc x10. but in the last time i get so many performance problems and failures and so on. i mean the most people here using x9 and i think i know why^^ so here is my question:
I will use x9 from now on to build my game but the resolution is not good and i don´t have water. which mod can i use for a commercial game that will give my game a better resolution (1600 x 1200) and water. by the way i use segment shaders in x10 i mean i build d,d2,n and s textures. can i also work in x9 with this technique? i mean adding an effekt to the segment fpe and put in the four textures (d, d2, normal and specular map)? i realy need a mod for x9 that can do this. can anyone help me please?

You can change the resolution in the config files actually, and the water feaure and shaders are slowly being implented in the new Betas, so please have a little patience while they upgrade it all to a reasonable level of usefullness before attempting to get anything from it.. As for commerial quality, you don't get that out of the box.. Nowhere, it depends on YOUR work and YOUR effort you put into your game, nothing else.

The only mod I know of that had water was s4mod, but that was for an older version of FPSC.

They do work on it.. I'm pretty darn sure my latest beta version has water in it.. Though THEY themselves don't work on it, they have Hockeykid for it I believe.

If you'll wait for me to get home I'll show you an image of the latest Beta build.. And I highly doubt they mentioned such a thing to you.

Cool, how does it work? same like in fpsc x10?
I mean paste this here in the fpe:
"effect = effectbank\bump\bump.fx"
and add the four textures:
xxx_D.dds
xxx_D2.dds
xxx_N.dds
xxx_S.dds

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

It's a Beta, there's bound to be issues and many things might be broken or incomplete.. Anyways, the next Beta release will contain a proper Bloom shader that won't burn out your eyesockets. It's not advised to build ANY game with the current Beta, it's far from good and will most likely either break somehow, or frustrate you to no end.

The shaders work more or less the same yes, the paths might be different but the general idea remains the same.. As for your screenshot, I have it right here:

While it's not perfect, I'd say it's a start into the right direction.. Although the massive amount of awkward wobblyness is a bit.. awkward? And it appears to cut of some entities that are placed in the water. (e.g. Barrels in second screenshot)

EDIT : Please do note that this is one of the more recent compilations from GoogleCode, your version might be slightly different with other issues to deal with as there hasn't been any update since Beta 3 out yet, and this is a few fixes/additions ahead.

From what I gather from the information in the source, they won't put out a non-Beta release until V1.20, which I can't give any ETA on, unfortunately debugging a source this large is quite a hassle, and some of the features that are being integrated are rather heavy modifications so there's bound to go something wrong here and there. Your best chance is to stick around and wait for a while, make some small projects in the meanwhile.. Improve your mapping skills, entity placement and scripting a little so you won't need to worry about that at a later stage.
