I think anayar is wondering how people are going to make a game and post it here if they have a bunch of limits, and can't actually build it. Which i'm a bit curious about too... But it might not be a game entry contest, as you haven't decided yet, so i can't really judge. I'm interested in seeing the newcomer submissions though.

Cheers, Jake

Conjured Entertainment something like this about a year ago, he had people submit the fpm file, which worked with stock media.

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=157070&b=21

I think it (and this) was/is a cool idea.

Perhaps instead of a game competition, a modelling one? There used to be those monthly.

My karma ran over your dogma.

Okie dokie lol Ill write you a book lol

1) Limited to new users only. FPS Creator may seem easy to use on the surface, which is true. But to really understand the power it offers requires alot of experiance using the engine

2) FPS Creator Free version only. Do I really need to explain this reason? Lets think about why thats just a bad idea in general. An you will obviously see about a million reasons for Bad Idea.

3) Clearly this is a marketing stratagy. Think Im dumb and the rest of the community dont see this ethier? Comeon man, most of us went to college too lol

4) New people in general = a crap ton of basic questions. Fill the boards up with how to questions that can be answered by reading the users guide or by watch tuts which a new user may not know about.

5) No support for patches which fix bugs and expand the engines abilities. Also could lead to unhappy users because FPSC free unpatched is very unstable and buggy. Infact I think unpatched wont run on Vista based machines or higher.

6) How many new people are there out there? Seriously? Most people use free engines like Unity or something of that nature. No offense to FPS Creator buy Unity is free and fully supported by Steam. So makes getting new users interested kinda hard. Unity is based off C lang which is the most commonly used Languages in todays world. Where FPSC and DBPro is based off QBasic which is a much older language and not a common language used any more.

I can go on and on with the list but Ill stop here. If your company wants to support FPS Creator. I think thats great but support the entire community. Were kinda like a big family over here. Everyone helps everyone and likes to partisipate togethier as a whole in things and compitations.

man are you ever wrong on your post there is no "marketing stratagy" as they get the key to unlock build game "so there able to update etc" witch was discussed with lee so its all legit so how are you making this more then it is?

Edit im giving them a key since i have 2 so please read info before posting next time

I am pretty sure UNITY is not free, you need a license if you want to sell something commercially.
