1. What are all the BSP world editors that work with DarkBASIC Pro?
2. Do any of them allow for import of your own pre-made models?
3. Is there a size limit to worlds?
4. How do you implement animation?(i.e. making a door open and close)
5. How do you make it so the user can interact with objects in the world?(i.e. when a player gets close to a ladder and presses a command an animation is loaded for the player climbing up it and then player is moved up the ladder at a certain increment)

Note: the object interaction I was talking about was for objects compiled in a bBSP world, not just loaded separately in DBPro.

One more question:
Does the BSP compiler that comes with DBPro automatically calculate collision?

1. Don't know but we use Valve's Hammer
2. Again depends on choice, Hammer allows you to build them and safe as a collection (prefabs), not sure about importing though as I'm just the programmer.
3. Dunno, expand until you can't expand no mores (i.e. try and see)
4. Your code would have to manage this as a BSP is only loaded as static geometry.
5. Seeing as a BSP is one entity of solid geometry it is probably easier to create invisible collision spheres/cubes etc... that you would use to detect collision and then your code would react accordingly.

Hope that helps,
Mike

one more question:
valve hammer only allows for .map,.rmf, or .os files. I don't have any program(if you wondering I use DesignCad 3d max plus 13.0, 3d Studio Max 5.0, and Milkshape 3d 1.65) that exports those types of files.

yes, there is a size limit to the .bsp worlds. At least, well.. somekind of. You see, it's not that you couldn't probably scale on room to be infinitely big, but if you make a complex map, the csg/vis/rad will run out of zones/nodes, or something like that. I think it was explained in the zhtl help files.

I was looking though the forums and I heard something about using Gmax as a way of compiling BSP worlds. How exactly would this work out and would it compute the collision automatically, or would it have to be defined somehow in 3d Studio Max?
