Just a suggestion, but you could try bouncing your game ideas using the forums, perhaps in the showcase thread, to show the world what you can do and build a name for yourself.
In terms of jumping in a selling, that's a very big question indeed, you'll need to promote, promote, promote, but most important of all, have good games to promote (or better still have great games).
Which is why I suggested the showcase board - how do your games compare to what's on show there?
Best of luck!

Posting your age is against board rules, I advise you edit it out as soon as possible.

If I were you, I'd throw out some games for free first to get some general response and possible critique from the boards. There are a lot of helpful dudes here who'll have plenty of good advice for you, if you're willing and/or able to take it.

Also, you might've misspelled your name again, I guess you meant to call yourself "Soul Taker"? If not, then nevermind.

Hi Soal Taker,

First of all you will need to make a product to sell (of course!) in this case a reasonable or great (as Teacher wrote) video game using FPSC.

After that how do you will deliver your game? Your game will be delivered using a Tangible or intangible media, I mean it is a tangible media (CD, DVD, etc..)and Intangible media is that stuffs done by downloads (softwares, images, documents files such as . PDF, .DOC or anything else can be downloable).

After choosing the delivery system of your product, how the other people will know that your product exists, so you will need to promote it through your web page, forums, social networking, paid advertising, etc..

Very good! one customer decided to buy your product! but how will you receive the money paid for him? Then you will need to choose a payment system, like PayPal, payment gateways, etc. ..

Now how will you manage purchase orders or you want to spend all day, night, weeks and years in front of a computer waiting for purchase orders that may never arrive or you will hire a company specializing in such things? It's up to you to decide.

All this stuff is called e-commerce. Don't be afraid, keep your head up and go ahead.

By the way if you do not have a credit card then you will need to find out someone who has that credit card.

I hope this information has been helpful.

Good Luck!

If you can't go through the process of selling a game yourself, consider putting your game on Steam. All you have to do is fill out an online application (which you can find online at http://www.steampowered.com/steamworks/gettingstarted.php) and wait. If they accept it, they'll work with you on just about everything pertaining to sales of your game.

Valve is very helpful with developers who sell their games on Steam, and from what I hear they have a very nice revenue split policy (i.e. they won't take 80% of your profits).

Hello Soal Taker,

I'm glad I could help you.

Well I'm not a guru in e-commerce and I have a few knowledge on this subject, because I'm a beginner also.

Let's go, there are a lot of companies out there that can managing your payments ranging from those with high priced services to those with affordable prices.

How are you getting started with e-commerce I recommend you trying with e-junkie.com and payloadz.com both are great for beginners.

If you want more information about this issue, please searching on the internet for DIGITAL GOODS DELIVERY or E-COMMERCE.

Thank you for reading.

Cheers.

Forgive me for being very blunt but you are definitely counting your chicken before they hatched.

Before you can think about selling a game you have to
C) have an actual game that is worth spending money on
which means you have to first
A) start with some profund analysis about the kind of game you want to make regarding:
- Is the FPSC engine is capable of pulling this of?
- Are you as a developer able of it either? Which is not so much about your creativity and dedication but mostly about the time you can spend on your project as a one-man studio. It's not easy being modeller, texturer, scripter, level designer, voice artist etc all in one person.
- Who is the target audience that would actually buy a game produced within the above restrictions and how much will they possibly be willing to pay.

Which brings it down to
B) Will all the time and soul you put into this game of yours pay off in the end?

I wouldn't start out with a commercial game but rather produce something short&cool to give out to your friends&familiy. You'll get great feedback and maybe some people will really be impressed and actually ask you to do more - or even want to get on board the project to work with you.

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

I mind as well let the secret out now. With the launch of SplatterSpawn 2.0 will be a branch off site, called SplatterGame. Through this website, you can sell your games. We are hoping it can become a popular place for people to sell their games! More news about the site will come out when it launches.

Hi SOaL TaKeR,

You are welcome!

However I warn you that the road ahead will not be easy to walk, so be prepared and keep walking!

Good luck!
