I just downloaded the AlienWare DBP demo and whenever I try to make an object or load anything it crashes! What is wrong?

What version of direct X do you have? What componets are in your system? When was the last time you updated 3d card drivers? pretty basic stuff.

Install the latest version of directx 9. If you don't have it then the compiled programs just crash with no error message when run.

I have no idea where to get DirectX 9. Does it cost anything?

DBC probably works becuase its not requiring the latest version of Directx where as DBP does.

You can download Directx 9 @

I downloaded it and ran the installer but DBPro still doesn't work! Is there more that I have to do with Direct X 9?

Try installing the latest drivers for your videocard. Could you post your system specs?

It's a brand new HP Pavilion XP so I doubt that it is missing any components that are needed.

I just discovered that It does run If I only use text but as soon as I add graphics it crashes

That’s pretty funny. Want to give us an exact component listing? Also run dxdiag and do a direct draw and a d3d test. What version of DX does dxdiag say you have? As for the hardware, specifically what 3d card is in your machine? Make sure you update the drivers for it.

It could just be becuase Hewlett Packard makes terrible computers.

If you have no idea whats in your computer download CPUz and tell us what it says.
