When I import an already made character, say the stock colonel.x" instead of the animations being 2000+ frames, there are only about 10-20 frames and the individual animations are only 1 frame long and then the character just appears into the next "pose". Is this normal or am I importing them incorrectly. I have tried this with 3D max (trial version), and fragmotion, and milkshape.

Main question is if I where to edit the character and rename and save it, would the animations come out correctly in the game? Or do I need to delete the key frames, rerig it and re-export the model?

Thanks in advance, folks.

You should edit the fpi file of the character.

When you import .x into a modeling prog all the animations get condensed, they are still all there, you can expand these by re-scaling time but it would be better to completely re-rig and apply the stock animation available for download.

I think he means edit by, adding or removing something from the model itself.
