I recall being able to open up EAI's HUD.X files for his weapons in Milkshape and remove certain Parts such as the EOTECH Sight on the M4 CQBR. I've been trying to do this yet it doesn't seem to work though. I've attached a Pic of the Process I've been using.

bootlicker made a tutorial, you should look over that


Poloflece, not to be mistaken for polofleece, polar fleece or polar flece. But I like to go by Polo or PFG, SO GET USED TO IT!

Did you delete the .dbo file in the gamecore/guns folder?

I've deleted the .dbo file, and this is the result.

@Bootlicker The Weapon remains un-modified, nothing added, nothing removed.

I have that problem on my modded M16A4 with 20 round mag and supressor. It gives me that damn error. Someone help this kid out and don't be stuck up. And by him/her I mean him/her and possibly me.

your problem is, I'll bet, that you didnt delete the HUD.dbo file for the gun you are modding

Oh I didn't read the post very well :-P.

Well, first off why export to MS3D ?
that makes absolutely no sense.

How did you remove the attachment? If the gun is a single group, you need to select the faces or vertices of the attachment, press delete, and export with Fragmotion's .X exporter. Theres absolutely no need\reason to export to milkshape. It's buggy and unstable.

{edit} And if print screen isnot working how did you take those shots?
For FPSC just press f9 or f12 (I cant remember which) and it will save a shot into your FPSC directory

@ General Jackson I was following Bootlicker's tutorial for modifying Errant's Weapons, which allowed me to add/remove attachments. I do thank you, however, for the alternative way of doing it. I didn't delete the .dbo file seeing as there wasn't one in the folder.

Oh and BTW, what the heck is a Grit?

No one has found a solution for this yet? Looks like I am not going to be able to modify EAI's Weapons.

yeah, the export left it facing the wrong way. use gunspec rotation commands to flip it around

I've been trying to edit HUD files on the 3D Object Viewer 3.5 but for some reason my HUD just isn't recognized as HUD.dbo. The gunspec keeps being recognized as having an error. What's special about EAI's weapons that I can't just do with Model Pack 5 or default weapons. My object viewer only allows me to save as animated HUD as .dbo while in .x it keeps it as a static mesh.
