While I am saving up for DB Pro I downloaded the Alienware version. Now understandably the program has very little learning tools. It gives the straight basics but it tells you nothing about how to get started making a game. The tutorials I saw on the site were mostly geared towards a specific subject. I need to know the basics with use of the functions.

For example when I typed in MAKE OBJECT SPHERE(1, 40) It wouldn't compile because it read it as MAKE OBJECT. In the program it says nothing about how to get started. Please can someone guide me to a place that can teach me the basics. I don't need to know about rainbow texturing if I can't even figure out how to load a sphere...

And that was just an example because I need to know the basics and I doubt there is a single person on this forum who is willing to devote the time to explain how to use the basic 3D commands.

PS I tried the BM tutorials and they have been a good learning aid but I can know longer find them and I am not even sure they will work with Pro.

Please I need a push in the right direction. I don't want to let the trial version go to waste....

All comands don't have parethesys except for ones that return a result.

Make object shere 1,40

rgb(255,0,0)
returns the color value of red

timer()
returns the system time in milleseconds

Just a little tip

The help in the Alienware demo gives you the syntax.

Another tip...type MAKE, then press CTRL and Space. The editor will give you a list box of all MAKE commands, and type out the syntax for you.

In short, the only commands that have brackets return a value, if you're doping something then there are none.
