WineX only currently support DirectX 8.1
and this support is hardly what i'd call amazing ... as everything is wrapped to OpenGL you require an OpenGL 1.4 Card.
It also requires atleast 8mb + Games requirement, so for DBP applications/games it must have atleast 16mb.

You also require your card to be second generation with TnL (if you actually want any decent speed) and require atleast 500mhz Processor Speed over the minimum.

Long & Short of it is, DBP upto 4.1 will work (after a fashion) anything beyond won't.
SciTech are releasing a DirectX Version of GLDirect... if GLDirect is anything to go by, you won't loose much if any speed.
