FPSC Classic Product Chat / how to edit a line of text in a script how do i open the script to edit it what do i use?

hello tgc ok my question i have the storyteller pack and i asked storyteller if i could use a script he already has and change the line of text in it to something different and he said yes i just do not know how i go about opening the script and changing what the line of script says i am still learning this script stuff any help would b awsome? (how do i open the script and with what program) ( and how do i change the line of script) for example


(you found a box)

(do you want to look inside press enter)
(you found pistol ammo)

my example

(follow the halls to the basment furnace and look for a set of keys)

i want to use this to give my player objectives to do i just have to figure out how to change the text and find an object to attach the text to like a clip board like euthenasia

i have no ideah how to do this but with the proper help i think i can pull it off helpme please?????

You can use notepad. An fpi file is simply a text file. However, I strongly suggest to get FPI EditPad. It is free. Go to http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=129738&b=23 to get it.

1. I only use notepad but EditPad is maybe worth a look.
2. Learn to script from the basics. If you don't understand the scripts you use, you'll never be able to pull off a game with custom scripts.
3. Read the community guide - thats where I learnt everything I needed to write my AGSP scripts.
4. I am very blunt now, but if you don't know or don't care to use punctuation in your posts, you'll be having a hard time writing even a single script line. Maybe you should start at the VERY basics.

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^
