Sorry that some parts of the model look mishappen, it was the way the camera was angled.

It's a great start. Model seem sound enough in design.
If this is a 1 segment height, then you might consider making the door as tall as the garage door and lower the windows. Segments in FPSC are 8'4" x 8'4" each level is 8'4" high also. Maybe design walls for segment use and construct roof as entity to place on top in the next level up.

Keep up the great work

Time for texutres and mapping.

This is a very complex model, I am impressed.

The trick will be to get different textures for the roof and windows into place and add some depth.

Have you thought about splitting your model up into house-roof-garage? It could make texturing a little easier and add versatility.

Here is a new picture of the model. I lowered the windows and made the door larger. Also, on the inside I seperated the main room and the garage.

My laptop does not have a print screen button so i take pictures with my phone, send them to my email, then upload them. Sorry about the quality.

If you are using windows 7, look in accessories for snipping tool. If you aren't then just google screenshot software and download one of the hundreds of free ones.

why is the roof made out of brick?
why is the chimney perpendicular to the roof?
why is there and awning over the entire front end of the house and made of brick?
why are the walls paper thin?
why is the garage just as big as the rest of the house (wich has to fit a bedroom(s), bathroom, livingroom and a kitchen)?

like i said, its a work in progress. I was already starting to retexture the roof and i started work on the chimney. I never took into consideration the walls or the garage though so thanks. I probably would not have noticed any of that and now I can work to perfect it.

Unless the garage is an open carport, or a separate, unattached structure, it will normally be included with the house under a single roof.

Considering the apparent scale of the door, the windows are now too low sitting around waist level, they should be at eye level to look out of. You can either raise them a bit, or leave them where they are now but making them taller to reach around the top of the door.

Doors are usually square at the top, while windows are more likely to be arched. You might consider swapping your current design it's up to you.

You've got a start

I removed the awning, changed the roof texture, raised the windows, and changed the top of the door from an arch to a square. Pictures soon.

i dont think i've ever heard of a computer not having a print screen button, unless its been broken off i think there's a shortcut for it but im not to sure

anyway regarding the model, its rather basic in the sense that its constructed from primitives, cubes, circles and planes, my first recommendation is drop sketchup as fast as possible, its not very good for anything more than architecual modelling, and even in that respect it lacks a lot of necessary tools, i say download blender and follow a few tutorials, on youtube, on modelling within blender. learn the basics e.g. how to make, UV map and texture a box, once you've done that move onto proper modelling, if i were you i'd finish this model within sketchup and then move onto blender, it's a vastly superior program, in my opinion at least, good luck with the rest of the model

I ditched the awning, changed the arch on the door, made a semi seperation of the house and garage, raised the windows, retextured the roof, and made a side door leading to the garage (not pictured)

I would say that scetchup can do something for you; noobnerd did some nice low poly stuff with it.... but again he just seemed to have a knack for it. I dont think blender by itself will help except for the fact that its going to intorduce you to some new concepts. It seems to me that your just starting out, and though blender really might be a bit overwelming i would at least grab a copy and start playing around. One thing that really screams beginner is the chimney... unless im mistaken and you were going for a stylized look. Chimneys are perpendicular to the floor, not the slope of the roof. While blender isnt going to make you any better artisticly it will open you up more to what is involved in creating quality models as long as you stick to learning it.
