Run as administrator?
Change Compatibility Mode to XP?

Those are the only fixes I can think of off the top of my head.

I've tried Admin, but compatibility mode is a good idea. I downgraded while looking for a fix, but y'know, I couldn't use my ironsights for airmod without 1.17 ;[ (I prefer vanilla to mods - generally less buggy)

But yeah, after it's reupdated, I'll try that. ^-^

Oh, I guess that's only in Win 7.. hmm this is very strange. I'm not really sure. I don't use Vista anymore so I guess I can't really throw out any more options as I would just be guessing.

I'm getting this error on XP. The issue can be partly solved by opening the taskbar and ensuring that FSPC and the FPSC editor has shut down after the error.

Still, more and more people seem to be getting the error.

oooohh yeah! I used to get this error all the time. Yeah open up the task manager...click on processes, and end the FPSC.exe process and the FPSCEditor.exe process, and the FPSCMapEditor.exe if their is one.

Doesn't seem to be that either... ;S
I might just go back to 1.16 and mod it myself to do what I want it to do. Though, this is pretty weird how it's working for everything older than 1.17... ;S

I would go back to XP, but my disc is broken ;[

I have the same problem, but I'm with Windows 7 rather than Vista.I'm starting to think there's no way to fix this, even the VC Redist packages from Microsoft didn't help.

Time to write an e-mail to Lee...

Mmh, if you have any luck, please tell me.
Otherwise, I'll get to work on a mod.

Download the latest Direct x, also download frame work 3.0-4.0. Install your latest graphics driver. Make sure your system has all the updates possible. Run update 1.17 as admin in combat mode. If that fails, try using 1.18B3

Just installing FW now. I tried 1.18 earlier. No luck.
Was Framework 3+ not required for previous installations then?

Moved back to XP. All works fine, something wrong with certain branches of Vista perhaps?
