Since the Synergy repeatedly tells me it's expired and CodeSurge pops up an unlimited number of Access Violation errors, I'm left a little in the dark (no pun intended) with development in Win7.

Buggy? When was the last time you ran it? I've never had any bugs, and it's been the best IDE I've used for DBP.

I don't like the default colors, and yes they can be changed but only from a limited selection. As for the bugs, its the fact that I can't get a file to load into it by default. Double-click a dba or dbpro file just opens the IDE with a blank file, then I'll have to manually open it from the file menu. It's minor yes, but still irritating none the less. (and yes I've tried all sorts of suggested fixes, none work) I'm just very frustrated with nothing working properly on 7.

Well here's a bug that's beyond annoying and just prevents work altogether. Tab and enter don't always work

Indigo if you're running 32 bit.

A bit picky now aren't we? lol

Make sure you associate the DBPro file with the editornew.exe as it works fine for me. (But I manually changed the association)

They do for me?

As for the whole '7' thing, if you have professional, then run DBP in XP mode.

I have Indigo, CodeSurge and the default IDE on 64bit Window 7 Home Premium.

By the way, the reason Synergy isn't up to date anymore, is because it became the default DBP IDE. The default IDE (with the colorful media buttons on the right) is no more.

Cheers!

You know there are 2 default editors now yeah? The old default one certainly is buggy but the Editor U73 is much better and is based off synergy

I think Phaelax, you have some other issues with your PC which is causing these editor issues.

I have Win7 on all my PC's (in a variety of flavours, from 32Bit Premium up to 64bit ultimate) and both Codesurge and the default editor both run fine for me.

That's the one that doesn't work in Win7, it's "expired". But the association worked fine. When I said Synergy I was referring to the new default IDE. The older, original DBP editor is what doesn't launch properly with the associated files.

As for CodeSurge, I'm not the only one who's had that problem as I saw it mentioned by others in the wip thread.

I'm gonna give Indigo a try.

Codesurge hasn't been WIP forever? (Well, Dec 2009 was when the program announcement post was made)? Are you sure your using the latest version?

Let us know what you think of Indigo as well tho please

I have the latest version of codesurge and get the same problem. I switched to indigo 2 weeks ago and haven't had any problems with it yet.

I'm using the DarkBASIC Professional Editor (Synergy Editor) - Build Jun 23 2010.

All in all, it's a great editor, although it sometimes has its moments, but then again, so do I.

Same here - on both counts.
