When i created a bump-mapped cube and started the debugger it constantly crashed DBPro. I found out that when i don't debug but jsut run the execute it works fine. Any idea why?
After running the fx demo i noticed DBPro crashes when it shoudl show rainbow and bumpmap effects.

Showing all the other stuff (like cartoon shading for example) works fine. When creating an execute the bumpmapping and rainbow shaders look good too.

So it's just when using the debugger. Any ideas why?

I have some other tools and when they debug a bumpmapped object theu dont crash.

Also...bumpmapping a cube is easy but ow do i bumpmap a "real" 3d object like a car? Right now i can only bumpmap simple ones.
Also...can you bumpmap a matrix to create better looking sceneries?

(or should i just use a huge mesh for the terrain?)

Thx in advance

I cann't help you but imagine this: I have a Voodoo3 2000 PCI. Now, do u feel sorry for me?

I picked up a Magic 8 ball th other day and it said "Outlook not so good".
I replyed "I know, butMicrosoft ships it anyways."

bump mapping is based on your UV coordinates, as DirectX8.1/9.0 mesh are capable of retaining upto 8 UV Maps you can specify the map you wish to use for it.

Basically for simple bump mapping all your doing is doing a Dot Product between the light position - original texture pixel - bumped texture pixel bias on the colour.

there are a few tutorials online for it, but there isn't a particular special trick for the bigger object. just need to Skin them
