Hello all! I've been using FPS Creator for several years on a hobby basis and have really enjoyed designing games with the program. Recently I bought a new computer to replace my ailing XP. During the data transfer process, it seems the .exe file for FPS Creator has gone missing. I really don't know what happened to it, but it's gone. My best guess is that I accidentally deleted it while manually deleting outdated files on my old computer. All of my libraries (entities, etc.) are still intact, and previously created games continue to run just fine. But without the .exe file, I'm quite incapacitated. Is there a way to legally replace this key component without buying the entire program again? Any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You should have
a) the original download
or
b) an original disc
or
c) the download link in your order history

Just use any on these but I wouldn't just replace the .exe but update everything to 1.17 or 1.18 beta. Otherwise you'll miss a lot of cool stuff

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

I downloaded the 1.17 Upgrade (since this seemed more stable than the 1.18 Beta) and ran the installment application. At the end of the process, I received a message stating that my system's DirectX 9.0 software was inadequate and that DirectX 9.0c was required. I was somewhat surprised that both my computer and FPS Creator function on such old builds, but proceeded to install 9.0c. However, I continue to get the same error message. I tried placing the new files in several different directories but FPS Creator is still incapable of locating them. What is the default directory for DirectX files? The installment application did not provide this information. Thanks for your help so far everyone, and with a little more assistance I think I can get things running again soon.

The installer typically asks you where you want to extract the files to. Pick any directory. When the files have been extracted, navigate to that directory and run the Setup.exe file to update your DirectX.
