Hello, everyone...

I hope this is OK as it is not a Team Request in its usual sense, and yes I have read the post about team requests.
Feel free to lock it if you feel it is in conflict with the rules, but I hope you let it fly...

I would like to offer my voluntary game programming services to someone, preferably a team of people with different skills interested in making "proper" games in DBPRO. Other individuals are welcome to contact me too though, don't feel like you MUST be a team. I want to work on your projects, or we could create a project together.

The main issue is that I want to work on games with other people who have the same devotion to game development as I do.

About me
My name is Martin Enderleit, 31 years old, and I live in Denmark.
Currently unemployed, so have alot of time on my hands to do programming stuff.

Programming experience
About 20+ years. Mostly game programming in various BASIC languages like AMOS and Blitz Basic on the Amiga, and have used DBPRO since around it came out.
I also have some C++ experience which some might recognize in the Object Oriented way I setup my code sometimes(and my c++ style comments), although I rarely use it.

Work Examples
I have quite a few posts on these boards with different code I have done(mostly ignored by the general public ).
Click on my profile and search for my threads and you can look at some of the WIPs, CodeSnippets, and DBPRO Discussion threads I have made.
I hope it shows that atleast I am somewhat advanced in my programming skills, plus that I write organized, readable, and usually well-commented code.

About YOU
1. You should be serious and commited to making games in your spare time, I don't care if you have as much time as I do currently.
2. I don't care about age, but maturity is a must. Let's say 20+.
3. Be a team of people or an individual with programming/art/sound/music talents. I don't require any sort of mastery, but it would be nice if you have a secondary talent besides coding. (I do a litte music btw)

Please don't take any of this as written in stone, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or just post a reply below.

You can reply to this thread or find my e-mail address on the profile page.

If I can add or improve to this info, please tell me so I can be as un-offensive as possible.

You would be better off putting your email in your profile, where it's put on the bottom of your posts protected from spam bots looking for addresses. (just sayin..)

I would ask you to join the Worlds Apart Online project, but I think I'm to much of a "Lone Wolf" programmer for that to work.

Thanks for the hint KISTech.

I am a pretty "Lone Wolf" too, although not by choice...
Most of my IRL friends aren't interested in programming/gamedev.
And when I say most, I mean none...

Just let me know if you change your mind... I love that type of game.

I'd be interested in letting you into a project of mine I'm working on.

I'm basically attempting to create a game engine. Currently, I have implemented and working, the ability to load objects & primitives into the world (Via a kind of xml I'm using)
I can also assign textures and some shaders to these objects all from within the xml markup. I also have a working UI engine with scripts setup which is also controlled with an xml style file. I'll post up a video of it in action, (not that it does much) and you can check out my DBPro Youtube Videos if you wish. (Or just visit this old (unrelated) thread. I kinda gave up on it as I changed direction to implement a new UI engine, then gave up on both when a new xbox game came out!)

I'm hoping with someone else to assist, I won't just stop working on things and actually finish something.

*edit* I'm also OK at music creation and can do a bit of 3d modelling.

InsanityED in your videos looks very interesting, is that part of the engine you are creating, or is that an old project?

Anyways, I'd love to help out if you like. You can send me an email with contact/msn info if you'd like, or just additional info/questions. My email is on the profile page.

For about a year, I have been leading an open-source project to create a complete first-person shooter game engine, called OpenFPS. It started out as an experiment to see if people would stop by and contribute to it, and anyone from the forums can help with the project. Once we finish the tools, our team is planning to develop a full game with a campaign and multiplayer servers. The project uses SVN and Google Code, so people can always download and contribute to the latest version. The thread is here, and the SVN is hosted at http://code.google.com/p/openfps
The thread hasn't been updated for a while, but I'm planning on fixing the first post so that it is a lot more friendly.

At the moment, we've completed a flexible UI system, an AI module, and a module system to organize all the code. I'm working on the core engine and a level editor. We have a lot of work done, but we need programmers to wrap up the modules so that the code is cleaner and more functional.

If you are looking for a very small, private team, this might not be what you want, but we're always looking for new team members to help, whatever you could contribute would be awesome.

thenerd: I was actually looking at that the other day, but some of the posts seemed very outdated so wasn't sure if it was still active.

We haven't updated the forum thread for a while, I suppose I should do that. most of the updates happen on the SVN, on average one new revision a day. Right now, only three team members are working on it including myself, but we are still progressing nicely.

I have registered at the Devstorm forum, should I just post in the Module Index thread or email BMacZero?

It's not the same project, but I still have the complete working source code for it. The code I'm working on will incorporate bits from it, (like the waypointing engine) but I'm working on entirely new code. I generally write extremely modular and reusable code anyway so adding bits will be easy to do.

Me hotmail email address and my msn address are underneath my signature so feel free to add me/mail me. I'll run Live messenger now just in case.

You can post on Devstorm or the TGC forum thread, or add me on msn. BmacZero isn't working actively on the project, so I'm leading it at the moment. I'd recommend installing an SVN client such as TortoiseSVN, so you can download the current project and take a look at the code.

Mobiius: Added you to my msn.

thenerd: I already have TortoiseSVN and are downloading the source as we speak. I have also posted on the Module Index page, and added you to my msn.

My apologies... Apparently my mail client mistook it for a spam message or something, but I have replied to your mail.
