(This probably should go in bug reports, yes, but I never actually get help when I post there.)
Does anyone who has Vista Home Premium actually have FPSC working?
When I use 1.16 and below, it works perfectly, and when I'm on XP Professional, 1.17 and 1.18 work. (In general... )

But the four times I've tried Vista Home Premium, FPSC doesn't work... At all.

My laptop has limited, less updated drivers for windows XP, and I need to use Vista really, else FPSC doesn't build or test games.
I would go back to 1.16, but I recently bought Project Blue (When FPSC 1.17 WAS working. Like, twice... ) and ould rather have the updates, etc PB and Vanilla give...

Thanks.

Oh, by the way, it says Map Editor has stopped responding, with the default Vista non responsive program report, then it closes that and it says First Person Interface has stopped responding.

I've got Vista Home Premium x64. Works absolutely fine for me.

I reject your stereotype of Wisconsin and, in fact, live in a city.

I have 32 bit. Never worked for me. I've tried running as admin, AND in compatibility mode with XP SP2.

Works fine for me (Ive got a x64 version). You have to run it as the Admin though

This reminds me... I really should get Windows 7 lol

Cheers,

That sometimes happens to me on my windows 7 laptop, just run the program as administrator.

Rightclick FPS Creator X9 > Run as Adminsitrator > Say yes to when a box comes up asking for permission > FPS Creator should boot up and bring you to the editor.

Tried 1.17 again... No luck.

Using 1.16 and Fenix mod, as opposed to PB and 1.17. Rather large difference. Half the scripts I used to use no longer work, but y'know.

If ANYONE can fix this, I will actually love you forever.

I would try this:

> Turn off User Account Control (UAC)

> Run FPS Creator Cleaner

> Open FPSC.

If that still doesn't work, uninstall the software and re-install it again, but disable UAC when you want to use it.

Good luck

I've tried this all before.
I'm not exactly a 'newbie' to FPSC, and I DO know the ropes - a long with years of experience in computers.

None of the basic stuff works. Any idea what could ACTUALLY be wrong?

I have absolutely NO idea what is wrong with this...

Thanks for any help, and I WILL look on here regularly for any fixes, but looks like I'll not be able to use updates...

There is just one thing I know about this bug:
It's an error in the map editor, not appearing in XP Pro.

Yes it should. Because of people posting in the wrong places, the FPSC chat forum is becoming very difficult to use.
