Hi guys,

I know of fraps but it costs money to capture a video more than 30 seconds. I was wondering if there is another program that is free an can record up to 5 min.

Thanks

FPSCapture, a free program made for fpsc, can be found in a thread if you use the search bar.

As Design Runner said, FPSCapture is a good one to use
Then again, I would be biased towards it

You only co-made it knxrb The only one I will tell you to 100% not download is Camstudio. Worst investment of disk space ever.

have you tried downloading the video encoder mentioned on the 3rd(?) page. That should stop all issues.

That must be you not setting it up right. All my video tutorials have been made pefectly with CamStudio and its lossless codec.

No no, it (camstudio) works great, besides in fpsc. If you are doing something else, then that works perfectly fine. It keeps a low memory use and all. But if you are going to be using it for fpsc, which I was, it is really useless. Just blinks black then shows picture, repeat.

Here's a video recorded using FPSCapture with no editing or other stuff done to the video other than converting it to YouTube format.
It's available in 720 HD as well, straight from FPSCapture.

I flip flop between camtasia studio and expression encoder. Of the two, expression encoder seems to be less of a performance hit.
