Why users don't use default IDE?

Maybe wait a bit longer before bumping, these forums aren't always very active

And there are plenty of IDEs you can use, the original default one has been known to occasionally corrupt source files, so it may be a good idea to choose a different one, with the last few updates, they replaced the editor with a new one, which works well and is very easy to use (in my opinion). There are others though, like CodeSurge, Indigo, BlueIDE (Basically an old version of indigo) etc... Have a look around on the Program Announcement and WIP boards, IDE projects tend to hang around there

There are many available. The first three should be in your Darkbasic Pro directory in the Editor folder.

Editor.exe - Oldest IDE that came with Darkbasic Pro
EditorU73.exe - Came with the 7.3 update
EditorNew.exe - Newest Editor based on the Synergy Editor.

We all have various reasons not to use the IDEs that came with Darkbasic Pro. I personally only use Indigo and BlueIDE because of the ability to store code snips that are easily pasted into any project within seconds.

I have stopped using the new editor based on Synergy. It takes a century to open a project, and insists on sending something over the internet, which caused me doubts.
Additionally, this new editor is a bit buggy on creating new projects, in fact it corrupted a couple of mine, so is more a problem than a help.

I use the old editor or just Codesurge, which is great.

We have an IDE in developement called Stab In The Dark Editor.Currently a WIP Post on Forums.Website has screen shots of current progress, soon to release demo.
