dose any one knows how I can make a seamless skybox as my attempts are a bit fruitless?

I'm using photoshop to make the texture, I have followed a guide from hands on darkbasic pro v1/2 to make the image so I think I've got that down OK, but I think that dbp is messing the mapping up.

here is what i'm trying to use

sorry for the epicness of my message, any help would be amazing, so thank in advance.

:o

Everyone else just uses a skybox generator or a much easier option: a skysphere.

Have you considered cutting the image up and applying it to limbs?

eg:

This is only pseudo-code but you get the idea, if I were to make a skybox, this is the way I do it.

Hope this helps,

I generate all my skyboxes in terragen to 5 images, then texture a plain in the right order with each of the images.

I forgot to mention, the download on that link might be some very old DBPro code. If the code does not produce the correct skybox, it would mean that the initial orientation of planes made with the Make Object Plain (or Plane) command was modified in a DBPro update that was made after the tutorial was made. If that is the case, you may have to rotate the individual sides of the box to obtain the proper result.

Got my skybox up and running, much better then cube mapping, with its weird corner distortions.

here is an screen shot

can't take credit for the textures of the sky or the tree textures yet as I stole the sky images from T.ed, and am using default textures from tree magic, I will change them as soon as I can.

Edit

what is with TGC images not working

Edit

ok I think that TGC dose not like windows live images

Edit

just a quick point to everyone, that doesn't know this, set the objects light flag to 0 on your skybox, it makes it look much better.

here is the line you'll need to do this
