I wish to experiment with multiplayer for the engine I'm working on so I'm basically looking around to what my options are... and there are many!

I've looked a bit at the native DBpro commands, DarkNet, Matrix Utilities and know that there are more dll's around so I'm asking for advice here... What do you use?

I know a bit of the basic stuff of multiplayer, like there are clients and servers, packets of data is being send and received, ports might need to be forward but other than the basic 'rules' I'm a bit of a n00b, so I do seek something simple... What do you recommend?

Thanks!

I use DarkNet, once you figure it out it's really easy and generally very fast and reliable (at least on my network)

BASIC programmers never die, they GOSUB and don't RETURN.

I agree with Planetary but if you don't want to dish out the $$$$, I suggest looking a post I made on different multiplayer plugins. Check it out:

There is also some good articles for getting started and help with multiplayer coding techniques in the post as well

Wow, I have some hectic weeks behind me so sorry for the late reply. Thanks guys, I'll dive into the DarkNet documentation and take a look at that thread.

For me, it's important that it's not too difficult. I have really no experience in the Multiplayer part of coding.

Not just yet, cause I want it to be something good, but soon I'll post a WIP thread of the project I'm working on and I'll let you know how things turn out!

Thanks again!
