Step 1. download this file: http://forumfiles.thegamecreators.com/download/2155793 and put it in your X10 folder

Step 2. Download and install this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.aspx?na=90&p=&SrcDisplayLang=en&SrcCategoryId=&SrcFamilyId=24a541d6-0486-4453-8641-1eee9e21b282&u=http%3a%2f%2fdownload.microsoft.com%2fdownload%2f3%2fA%2f5%2f3A53CE87-F5C9-4CE5-92E1-5E2AF4841741%2fDXSDK_Mar09.exe

Step 3. Instead of opening FPSCreator.exe open FPSCreatorXP.exe

I have not tested this myself as I use windows 7 but my friend has tried this and confirmed that it works

If you want to know how to decompile the exe

Yeah...this doesn't work.
It's been discussed before, multiple times.

I reject your stereotype of Wisconsin and, in fact, live in a city.

I think what le shorte maybe getting at is that you can't play the game on XP machines. From my understanding this is just an editer and not the game files. The X10 editer works on any machine so long as it has Vista or windows 7. You don't need an X10 card to use the editer, but you do for testing and playing. This is where I normally create my games for X10, but I have to use my main machine to run and test it.

This thread is very misleading to be honest and it is not clear what the patch really does, so I think it would help for you to proved more information. Like proof that it works.

Also the editer is closed source from my understanding, maybe someone could confirm this. If that is the case then how did you get the source code?

Editor isn't closed source. It comes with the x10 modders kit.
However, the editor is the x9 version. The game will not, under any circumstances, work on XP. It's impossible.

Lol this is the funniest joke ever. Adding a -sourcecode parameter to an .exe gives you a source code, freaking hilarous.

This post is Crap and useless and should be CLOSED,
fps X10 games utilises the DIRECTx 10 DLL drivers only, and so only suports DIRECT X 10 graphics cards. XP is I quote IS a DIRECT x 9, Yes NINE and not DIRECT X 10 = TEN ( SAVY )
unless you recode xp with direct x10 DLL's from the ground up then you mite get FPS X10 games to work.
But why the hell would some one spend bloody ages bugering around with the DLL and other bits just to try and get a simple game to play, and loose all the suport for all your comecial games that uses direct x9. or unless you manualy patch them all to work as well.

what a bloody mess, for the sake of buying Vista or Windows 7 for a poxy £65 or less, COME ON! Whats the POINT you plonker.

and if you cant afford that THEN GIVE UP GAME MAKING

CLOSE THIS POST it doing MY SWEED INN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAVY
