Oh hey look there's a little flag next to my avatar

Thanks! I think I'll celebrate by releasing the unfinished AirMod SE source. Probably doesn't have much the latest updates don't from the looks of things but maybe somebody will find it useful.

That is an understatement. Congratulations Airslide, you deserve it for all the work you've done to improve our limitless friend.

I agree Airslide deserves this purely on the contribution of Airmod which is a standard part of FPSC and all mods now.

However I would like to point out that Airslide has been inactive on the FPSC boards for a long time now unlike say bond1 who is also a valued member.

I think its great we show such high appreciation for the work people have done but I would like to see Airslide posting here a bit more often.

I've never stopped lurking, but I'll try to be more active. Been doing a lot of non-TGC stuff (mainly XNA).

So, he should wait to be awarded it posthumously, like Heltor?

Whether Airslide is active or not, his legacy should be long respected for the life of FPSC and I think TGC and the mods or whoever it is that decides these things did right by acknowledging his contributions in this way. It's also great to see an OG modder in the VM ranks. It certainly makes the badge more meaningful to me.

I'm sure we'd all love to see you around a bit more but I also think it's great you've branched out. I think you'd be happy with the way weapons have turned out in 1.18. Hockeykid did a superb job of filling in the gaps that were left in Airmod and adding many new things as well. There's now almost nothing I could want more in the gun system and to see such a complete and robust system in "vanilla" makes my heart skip a beat.

I truly see you as the lynch pin to why the "migration" has been such a whirlwind of awesome. For it was Airmod that got most people to even try a mod in the first place and eventually there was an explosion of great mods and no matter what the new features offered, the first question anyone would ask was "Does it have Airmod"? If the answer was "Yes" it had good chance for success and if the answer was "No" it was doomed to be marginalized.

If not for the mainstream enthusiasm over Project Blue and Fenix Mod (and sparked by Airmod), I think we would not have seen Hockeykid invited on-board to help TGC with the migration and be the custodian of Airmod integration and its feature set completion. We would also likely not be seeing Ply's wonderful variable system in official FPSC either.

So once again
And I wish you well on whatever road life takes you down.

Many Congrats AirSlide...

An I agree with Errant - Airslide's AirMod contribution will no-doubt go down in the annals () of FPSC history, and active or not active - the legacy will live on...

Correct me if I'm wrong - but was it not the release of AirMod source that encouraged the plethora of Mods to start appearing on the FPSC community boards....AirMod is the backbone to many of the FPSC mods we see today - so what better way to acknowledging his contribution than this.

On a separate note - There should be separate (sticky) thread, entitled "Hall of Fame" or the like that lists in chronological order the Valued members, when they were accredited and their achievements etc...

Again - Well Done AirSlide...and good luck with XNA.

Finally, Airslide gets what he deserves! Congrats bro! Especially after you let them put Airmod into the updates (although I imagine they paid you in the first place...).

Drinks all around!
