Hi i have made a level that uses up more memory than the 1.8 gb cap. I have disabled the memory cap in JRH's setup editor, but what is the downside of disabeling the memory cap, my level runs great anyway... Their is got to be some reason it was put there in the first place...

It's a warning that you are about to exceed the usable memory and the program may crash. If you built successfully, then you must be living on the edge.

I got the error, then I have disabled the memmory cap and i can run test game fine. But im guessing the memory cap was put in for a reason so im wondering what could happen if the memmory cap is disabled and the memory use exeeds 1.8 gb.

Ok, im guessing it will crash if someone that has 2gb or less ram runs the game... I will try it on my old comp.

Edit: i tride to run it on my old comp with 2 gb ram and as soon as i started the game it crashed, im guseeing it was because of the memorycap

FPSC is a 32 bit program.
Windows in 32bit reserves 2 GB for itself and, does address only 3.8 GB of memory therefore: 3.8-2=1.8 GB.
