Hello, I'm an art and animation student and i've just bought this for my win64 bit system, windows 7.

I'm looking to start a run of the mill 2d shooter leading to better more detailed games in different area's;

what are the initial handy scripts and
is there a particular template or various custom scripts to go by?

Thanks for reading, hope to hear a suggestion.

Hi DSR1,

DarkBasic Pro is not a scripting language. It is a programming language based on Basic. This means that you'll have to learn how to program if you wish to make any game. I suggest browsing through the tutorials in the sticky in the Newcomers DBPro Corner to get started.

For a 2D shooter game, you might want to search for sprites, images, and 2D related stuff.

Good luck !

By scripting i did really mean programming like with C++ or MEL for Maya, what do you think of the software? I bought the darkgame studio dvd.
The models you buy in packs i can create as i'm a 2d/3d modeling speciialist mainly 3d landscape modeling,either way i think this will be good to make games with.
Have you created any games with the software yet? I'de love to see your work and idea's you've had either in C++ or images for inspiration.
Thanks Sven B
