I've recently been blessed with some free time away from my university projects so I thought I might give FPSC a whorl again. Now I know FPSC X10 is kinda dead now and X9 is still being supported and has received several updates since I left the community years ago. Before I invest my time into FPSC X9 I was wondering what changes have been made to X9 since X10 was abandoned.

- Does X9 support water like X10? I've read that this will be apart of the V1.18 update but is there an estimation on the release date?

- Can you have allies by your side and have them attack enemies like in X10?

- X10 visuals looked really nice. Will X9 look anything like it?

- What about the in-game effect sliders that allowed users to control bloom volume and ambiant lighting on the fly?

- Ragdoll deaths? I think users have modded X9 to allow ragdoll before but when will this become a standard feature like it was in X10?

- I know this is random but will X9 ever support voice lip-sync as a standard feature?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. <3

Probably a few weeks from now.

Yes

- X10 visuals looked really nice. Will X9 look anything like it?
Yes - but X9 still doesn't have an auto-resolution feature for ease of use.

- What about the in-game effect sliders that allowed users to control bloom volume and ambiant lighting on the fly?
X9 has better bloom than X10 and also has easy ambiance setting when testing games but it doesn't have the sliders though.

- Ragdoll deaths? I think users have modded X9 to allow ragdoll before but when will this become a standard feature like it was in X10?
X9 has ragdoll but it's still a bit buggy. Improvements have been made though and V118 final will probably be very close to X10.

It already is a standard feature but crafting media (models, voice etc.) to support it fully takes skill. A few stock characters have lip sync for testing.

Thank you for answering my questions Scurvy Lobster.

How would I apply an .wav to one of these stock characters and have them lip sync? Or is this a complex task?

I haven't tried that but there should be a guide somewhere.

In one of the updates which introduced the Voices feature, there's a tool which does everything for you,as long as you have the audio file and the character you wish to apply it to,has the apropriate mouth bones.

I might be wrong,I've only tried it once and it was quite some time ago.
